Good Evening Band Family,
Just checking in with everything that we have planned for the week, but before we do that, I wanted to thank everyone for the well wishes after the birth of Liliana. Mom and Baby are still doing well, and Harrison is super excited to be a big brother. The entire Rose family misses you, and we can’t wait until we are all united again at band camp!
Zoom Class
This week, we will be having our weekly zoom meeting on Tuesday at 10 am. The topic at this weeks session will be titled “Purposeful Practicing.” We will talk about the importance of setting up a practice routine, what your daily practicing should look like, reviewing some important fundamentals, and discussing our “Practice Journal” assignment (more about that below). Practice Journals
In an effort for me to give feedback to all of our students, I am assigning a quick weekly journaling assignment to all of our band students. In this assignment, students will write down what they worked on every day, their minutes of practice, and then answer a couple questions about their goals. It is designed to only take about 15 minutes a week, and should be completed by Sunday every day. We will also discuss this more in our zoom class this week. Link is below to the practice journal.
Band Booster Meeting
We originally had a band booster meeting scheduled for this Tuesday, April 21 at 7 pm. This will still happen, only virtually on zoom at the same time. This is an important meeting because we will have elections for the upcoming booster board. This group of volunteers is responsible for so much and it is imperative that we elect them so that they can start the planning process of band camp, fundraisers, budgeting, etc for next year. Leadership Meeting
This week, we will have our 2020-21 leadership meeting on Thursday, April 23rd at 1:30 pm. Remember that we need all of our leaders present! Below is the link and yes, you guessed it, the password is patriots.
